It just slaps its stupid logo onto your new tab and search screens, also the the guy with the massive lisp in the adds is annoying. i would give it a 0/10. idk how they even make money tbh. also the tree counter is a total scam.

Really nice, helps me try to keep our planet alive. 2 downsides, 1. The home page is not as customizable as I would have liked, but thats not to bad. 2. When you look up a math equation, unlike Google, it sometimes doesn't bring up a calculator, so you have to go on weird websites to get an answer. That's it!

All of the reasons have already been said. Honestly, I like the style and engine better than Google, and of course there's the obvious bonus of planting trees for simply searching for things online. Fantastic!

Why does the extension need to communicate with Ecosia.org? Why does Ecosia.org need to talk to the extension? Why does the extension need to overwrite the default New Tab? You can achieve the same thing WITHOUT an extension, by 1) going to Ecosia.org, 2) conducting a search (to hint to Chrome that this is a search engine), 3) going to Chrome settings, 4) Manage Search Engine, 5) set Ecosia as default search engine.
