Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.
What's New in 3.0:

* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

Perfect!
This is the most ridiculous thing ever made. It should not be needed to add this as an add on. This should, maybe, be a checkbox in the normal settings, and then one to turn backspace off. Not something that wants the right to edit ALL data on ALL pages you visit. Anyone who deleted their stuff because they pressed backspace is just an idiot. Well made websites would make sure you want to go back if non-saved data is entered on your end anyway, so people who complained are just idiots who cannot accept THEY are the problem.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. There was no problem with the backspace key until you got rid of the function and forced people to download an extension for it to work. Even then, it doesn't freaking work. and the prompt on how to go back is terrible. alt+<-. NO. Do you know what also looks like <-? My freaking BACKSPACE KEY. The left arrow on my keyboard is a triangle. BRING BACK MY BACKSPACE FUNCTION or at least make an extension that actually works.
Google Chrome developers, who made this desision to remove backspace hotkey are complete idiots. This is not browser for dummies only.
Solves a problem that should never have existed, I'm installing out of a near-necessity that's just about shameful. I hope this review and all the others like it on this extension make their way to someone making these feature change decisions on Chrome.

Oh Boy! A reason to finally switch to Microsoft Edge. The only reason I was still using chrome is because it handles youtube better than Edge. But removing the backspace functionality (extension or not) does not bode well for the future of this browser. Meanwhile edge is getting better with every update. See you later chrome *uninstall*.
It does not in fact register text boxes well AT ALL. Only large and popular ones (certain emails, etc). In-browser chat boxes popular on many forums, games, and such, will NOT register the text field as valid, so it will instead delete the page and go back. Very annoying.
Fixes stupid change to chrome that should have been a option.
The extension shouldn't be needed but at least it restores the functionality.
