This tiny and efficient extension adds standard video playback controls to Instagram™ videos. Normally, all you can do with an Instagram™ video is play or pause it, but this extension will expose the native HTML 5 video player which has a seek bar (aka video scrubber), a volume control, a play/pause button, Picture-In-Picture (floating video) button, fullscreen video button, and on *some* videos it will also display a download button!

The extension automatically runs and works on all web pages that embed Instagram™ videos!

How to use it:

1) Load any web page that contains an Instagram video

2) Click the video to make it play

3) That's it - the extension will automatically detect the video and will reveal the control buttons.

Controls everything except the sound, the seeking in videos is excellent and quick. The only negative is that it doesnt do anything with the sound, which have to be manually messed with every time.

Great tool, but definitely needs to work out keeping the volume constant when flicking through reels. That's about the only drawback right now.

Fantastic. It's bizarre that Instagram omits these completely normal video player controls that exist for nearly all other sites. Giving you no option to skip around and audio is either full blast or nothing at all. This extension is perfect. *Note: If you are playing videos and dealing with it constantly muting, you just need to make sure to unmute the original Instagram audio button and then it will work as normal. **Update: No longer works.

Echoing other reviews that while it's a great feature, it hijacks global keyboard shortcuts on Mac: CMD+Up/down arrow is no longer useable by other sites. I found a workaround which is that Command+Option+Up/Down works, but this shouldn't be the case.

Great for making it, but please stop that stupid behaviour that turns the volume down to zero whenever you hit "pause" . This is stupid and undesirable, although I suppose thats default behavior. But thanks, this Instagram app is fo f*@kn infuriating I hate this app so much, every single thing about it is just dogshit.
