This would be perfect, but every single time I look at a video it starts it mutes it. When I try to scroll on an insta video, that also mutes it. When you pause the video, it mutes it. So you will always miss a part of the video's audio no matter what.

This extension works great. Instagram makes code changes regularly that break some functions such as audio control or video time position, which often apply to some users but not others, but the developer is very responsive when good problem reports are made (rather than complaining in a review) and has worked with me directly multiple times to troubleshoot and fix the issues. Update: it's been over 2 years since this was updated, and IG has again completely broken it. It had some issues up to now, but still did what was needed, but the latest update has completely disabled the functionality again. Controls can only be seen when the video is paused, but they're not actually usable in that state. I seriously do not understand why IG does not want us to have native controls to move back and forth on a desktop. Lack of position control is stupid. Being able to jump in a video would mean you finish it faster and go back to scrolling and seeing ads. It's possible IG will make further tweaks that accidentally make this extension work again, as has happened before, but it gets less and less useable as time goes on.
