This tiny and efficient extension adds standard video playback controls to Instagram™ videos. Normally, all you can do with an Instagram™ video is play or pause it, but this extension will expose the native HTML 5 video player which has a seek bar (aka video scrubber), a volume control, a play/pause button, Picture-In-Picture (floating video) button, fullscreen video button, and on *some* videos it will also display a download button!
The extension automatically runs and works on all web pages that embed Instagram™ videos!
How to use it:
1) Load any web page that contains an Instagram video
2) Click the video to make it play
3) That's it - the extension will automatically detect the video and will reveal the control buttons.

After the latest update of Instagram web this extension is not working properly needs an immediate fix.
Please update/fix it, after new instagram update it show the contros but nothing works.
This is been ESSENTIAL but IG has just changed something and it no longer works. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix it. Also, to ungrateful 1 star reviewers who know this free extension made in someone's free time is only broken due to IG changes, using their rating as a bribe for a person with a life to spend time on it, analyze your priorities in life.
No longer works, Instagram has changed something and the controls are hidden.

I totally get it, the A/B testing and account creation limitations are a PITA. Commendable job in spite of that. Really great UX improvement when it's working.

Please update the extenstion as Instagram has made changes to the video player behaviour. Really started missing the controls as soon as they stopped working. EDIT: A temporary fix I found is that if you are using an adblocker like ublock, then you can disable the top layer of the video by choosing 'remove an element' and the video controls below will be unlocked. If you are on a profile page, or an individual post page, you have to click twice in the selection tool. And if you are watching on reels section, you have to do it 4 times. I don't know why. It just is.
