Black Menu for Google gives you quick access to your favorite Google services with a convenient drop-down menu that lets you use Search, Google+, Translate, and many others without leaving the page you’re on. Click on menu items to get a small windowed preview or click on the open in new button on the right to open them in a new tab.
Customize the menu by pointing at ‘Add’ and dragging/clicking the services you want from a comprehensive list of services. To remove services, drag them to the right to remove them.
Access these and more with Black Menu for Google:
Google Search. Quickly search the web or switch tabs to search for images, books, news, etc.—all within the mini window.
Google+. Share the current page, or check your latest Google notifications. Navigate all of Google+ as you would on a mobile device.
Google Translate. Type or paste text into the box to get a quick translation for that comment you received in a foreign language. View your translate history and save your favorite ones.

In addition to the plug-in icons are not very good, other places are perfect.
Black Menu is useful, and pleasing to the eyes, but the UI needs work. The left half of the Black Menu screen is just a google search, and it can't be collapsed. If we wanted to search Google, we'd just use the Omnibar. As many of us are minimalist, this sidebar clutter made me instantly uninstall this extension. It seems like a simple fix, so maybe I'll check it back out, sometime.
good idea
Awesome extension in every way. Gives you complete accessibility to all of the most useful Google products.
Until recently, I avoided extensions for fear of viruses or slower processing speeds etc. This seems much improved, so am slowing delving into the glorious world of extensions. =) I also couldn't understand the inquiries/reviews about Google Black requiring additional permissions. Bordering on paranoia re. privacy, I've NEVER allowed access to my contacts etc. for fear of compromising a friends privacy. It's a bit like not giving out someones number without permission, but on a larger, cyber scale. I'd erroneously assumed this extension was created by Google, but the concern makes sense being that it's a third party app. Wow. I'm not sure what to do as Google knows more about its users than our family/friends, but I feel relatively safe , but this is after having proven themselves over many, many years. That said, a major Google breach would be potentially disastrous. Not sure where to draw the line between convenience and security at times.
