Black Menu for Google gives you quick access to your favorite Google services with a convenient drop-down menu that lets you use Search, Google+, Translate, and many others without leaving the page you’re on. Click on menu items to get a small windowed preview or click on the open in new button on the right to open them in a new tab.
Customize the menu by pointing at ‘Add’ and dragging/clicking the services you want from a comprehensive list of services. To remove services, drag them to the right to remove them.
Access these and more with Black Menu for Google:
Google Search. Quickly search the web or switch tabs to search for images, books, news, etc.—all within the mini window.
Google+. Share the current page, or check your latest Google notifications. Navigate all of Google+ as you would on a mobile device.
Google Translate. Type or paste text into the box to get a quick translation for that comment you received in a foreign language. View your translate history and save your favorite ones.

9/29/16 UPDATE - I reported a bug; the developer contacted me and had it fixed the same day. I had already given the extension 5 stars; now I wish I could give it 6. ***************************** Best in its class! Allowed me to get rid of several other extensions because this one does it all. It's much faster than loading Gmail or Google Calendar. Much, much faster than having to load Google Drive or Docs or Sheets and then open the file I'm looking for. Much faster than having to load Google Calendar. Much faster than navigating to the Apps page and then opening an application. My only request is for the Calendar to allow us to scroll at least two weeks (preferably longer) into the past, not just see today and future dates. Also, a grid view option for the calendar would be nice. One question: What is the bell icon in the toolbar supposed to do? I get a blank, gray panel when I click it.
This should be native to chrome.
I love the extension, I just wish you could change the default size and resize it at will.

Such a shame that I found this so late! The extension is absolutely amazing, and a must-have for any Googlehead.

I second Cody Lundberg. Forcing a new tab to open every time there is an update is HIGHLY annoying! This happens while playing a game, watching a movie fullscreen, etc. A few great apps have the most annoying features. But then there's great apps that are, well, amazing. Be amazing, not annoying... You could simply add a boolean to the settings/options and check that before "redirecting" or opening a new window to the update page.
Useful app. I dislike how it force opens a new tab that I dont want every time it is update. I have sent multiple feedback messages to the creators that have all been ignored.
