This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.

ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.

In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

I'd like to have default search to google or some other search engine with an option to type @gpt to use it. Doesn't make sense to search everything through GPT. This is not a good integration.

It does not do me any favor if just takes me to the chatgpt website, I would definetely use it if it would give me the option to have both, google engine and chatgpt answer at the same time.

It would be beneficial to analyze the query and decide whether to use ChatGPT or a regular search engine. For example, when searching for an address or image, Google can provide tools like image search or maps. Alternatively, a system could offer a brief ChatGPT-generated answer at the top, followed by a detailed list of sources in a format similar to traditional search results. When searching, people generally prefer lists of options and clickable links rather than a single definitive answer. Additionally, upon clicking a link, GPT could generate a summary of the content at the top, enhancing the overall search experience.
