Wow, this is terrible. With the recent update the extension is unusable, which is so unfortunate because I used to use it all the time. At least they did it before the subscription price increase hits my account as this was the main reason I had a paid vimeo subscription and now I know to not renew. Time to try loom.

Negative stars. Don't use Vimeo! Our students were able to record almost completely independently with the widget last year and into September. Now there is no widget but a new screen that opens that either doesn't record a true full screen (weird rectangle landscape) doesn't allow us to hide the toolbar so everyone see recording and stopping... It's a mess. So unprofessional. And we teachers need to walk them through because of all the steps and settings. Our school system just purchased access to Vimeo and we are NOT getting what we paid for.

New change is absolutely horrible. The extension now opens a completely different window where you have no idea of what you're recording if you want to record over a browser or over your desktop. Not sure why they did this, but it's almost completely unusable as an alternative to Loom, etc. Why!?? Vimeo. WHY?

If using the Chrome Addon, you must now start on another screen, share from there, then a pic-in-pic will open (not true pic-in-pic) that will have the "Start Recording" option and once started the end-option in it. The previous experience can be had if one installs the desktop version of the app. This shows the flag-window like we were used to where you can decide what to share and start recording. I personally preferred the previous Chrome Addon functionality as it is way quicker to get a recording started spontaneously rather than finding the app, running it, then returning to the screen. It could, however, all have to do with how Chrome / Google require certain security reviews and adherence to rules now that this route was taken.
