Enable local file links in Chrome or Edge by using the Local Explorer browser extension. It lets you browse and open local file links directly in your web browser.
Local Explorer can enable local file links and open them in associated application when clicked. For examples, click a folder link to open Windows Explorer, click *.docx file to open MS Word, click *.avi file to open Windows Media Player, and so on...
You may use Local Explorer to open local file links & folder links to hard disk drives, Azure Active Directory or company's shared folders, mapped network drive directly in corporate website or local host site.
EXAMPLES
C:\Users\my_user_name\Documents ("My Documents" folders)
\\10.0.0.1\shared\local\folders\files (network drive)

File Management WebDav
Opening links to local files is prohibited in Chrome, but this extension allows you to open them.
Quickly open the default 'Downloads' folder. keyboard shortcut: Alt+J.
Run any external application with custom arguments from the browser toolbar or context menu to send links, text and more
molto utile quando si deve puntare un link locale, qualche cosa da sistemare ma ottimo.
Can't get it to do anything
This extension only works on the chrome browser for / on windows, NOT on Chromebook!! After adding the extension, you're asked to add an extension to Internet Explorer... SO why even use the chrome browser with this extension? Has to be something better out there.
Doesn't work with Chromebook. Error says that this file type is not supported.
Wish there was better instructions on the setup... your app can be extremely helpful for non savvy people and therefore require better instruction.
Helpful to me. Thanks
It is ONLY for Chrome on a Windows-based machine (must install an .exe file). Does not work for ChromeOS, Linux, Mac, etc.
Great one. We've been using it with a FileServer and share the media for all Active Directory users. The developer support email was at [email protected], once we got a problem and reported it. Then he uploaded a bugfix for it in a day or so. Awesome!!
Doesnt add any icon to the browser - doesnt work
It's the best file manager extension on browser. The only one that works. Give it a try!
