News Feed Eradicator removes the most addicting part of Facebook, Twitter and other social networks - the feed - and replaces it instead with an inspirational quote. You can still use the other functionality as usual, you just won't get sucked into the attention hole.

exactly what i was looking for! I use facebook for messaging, but I don't want to deal with the newsfeed at all.
Sanity at last!! I just randomly happened to search for ways to disable FB feed, and was thinking it would be impossible, when this extension popped up. Thank you, devs! I'm only interested in FB groups, and now I have my peace of mind back. :)
Works fine, but I started to receive almost daily friend requests from bots since I installed this.
