News Feed Eradicator removes the most addicting part of Facebook, Twitter and other social networks - the feed - and replaces it instead with an inspirational quote. You can still use the other functionality as usual, you just won't get sucked into the attention hole.

I have realized I don't really care about anything on the newsfeed on Facebook anymore and just need Facebook for groups. I thought beforehand I could always find something on the newsfeed but instead I really found nothing worthwhile. I now am more interested in people when I actually meet them rather than on Facebook.

This extensions works great. I just wish there was a way "memories" could still show up. Reminders of what my kids looked like three years ago is one of FB's redeeming features.
How can we block the red badge alerts? Blocking the news feed is good but I can't help but click on the red badge alerts - so it would be a HUGE benefit to me (and others!) to block them. Any ideas?

Lose your feed. Keep messenger, your sanity, and respect for your relatives. Enjoy motivational platitudes to inspire you to feel more productive (or at least feel the appropriate shame for reopening the time vampire). Pretty much perfect.
It's great because I can have a Facebook tab open without losing over a few seconds every time I check Facebook. I wish there was something similar for my phone.
