News Feed Eradicator removes the most addicting part of Facebook, Twitter and other social networks - the feed - and replaces it instead with an inspirational quote. You can still use the other functionality as usual, you just won't get sucked into the attention hole.

Not what I was looking for but It works so who am I to get it less than 5/5
I really like this extension just because along with hiding News Feed, it also shows some uplifting quotes. But, the reason behind my three stars rating is that my Facebook page constantly refreshes, every second when this extension is enabled. That's why I installed "Kill News Feed" extension instead of this one, but I do miss the useful quotes.
Great when it works. However the facebook page occasionally continuously refreshes making the facebook page very sluggish for messages and notifications.
Not all heros wear capes. After 10 years on Facebook, I'm excited to finally begin enjoying it ;) Thank you!

It's remarkable how little I actually miss my news feed.
Now that I have hidden my Facebook feed I am much more productive. I love that I can still use FB for organizing events and messenger but I don't have the mindless scrolling symptom anymore. I do miss out on some things I would be genuinely interested but let's face it, most things on your home page are pretty pedestrian. Sometimes it just shuts off and I have to reinstall but it serves as a little reminder to show me how useful it really is. There's one time suck gone, hundreds more to go!
Simple but very useful. I wish there is an option to put an image on the newsfeed instead of quote, that would be awesome.
This is awesome! Block complainers and political posts and helps me stay productive.
