On an internet dominated by ads and corporate-run websites, Indie Wiki Buddy is a browser extension that helps you easily find and support independent wikis.
When you visit a wiki on Fandom or Fextralife, this extension will notify or automatically redirect you to quality independent wikis when they're available. Indie Wiki Buddy will also filter results across ten search engines (including Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo), to help guide you to click on results from independent wikis.
Indie Wiki Buddy supports over 650 independent wikis across over 20 languages. And you're in full control -- you can choose your experience wiki-by-wiki!
Indie Wiki Buddy also supports BreezeWiki, an affiliated service that renders Fandom wikis without ads or bloat. This helps give you a more enjoyable reading experience when an independent wiki isn't available.

absolutely a must have
It's pretty great to be recommended ways to support a variety of other wiki site hosters every now and then! However, it's kind of mean to deprive such a small company from just that extra penny they get from you viewing tens of thousands of ads taking up nearly 60% of your screen, (or 100% with an adblocker) alongside that extra hundreds of bucks that shareholders give to them for throwing wiki pages into the trendy AI grinder. Oh, and don't forget the occasional self-promo in the bottom right when they feel like YOU want to watch something they made right now instead of a wiki page of what this obscure function does.
fandom deserves this and so much worse
Sometimes mistakes independent wikis for Fandom wikis if they use a similar codebase, often linking to the wrong page in the process. For example, it will sometimes redirect Bulbapedia page links to Bulbapedia's search page, but with the wrong search terms. Overall it's a very useful plugin, just not always reliable.
