To provide website visitors the ability to prevent their data from being collected and used by Google Analytics, we have developed the Google Analytics opt out Browser extension for the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, dc.js).
If you want to opt out, download and install the extension for your web browser. In order to function, the opt out extension must be able to load and execute properly on your browser. Updates to your browser or operating system may affect the functionality of the opt out extension. More information about managing your extensions for Chrome can be found at https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/187443?hl=en_GB.

useles extension it do nothing!! it dosen't block analytics
If you're looking for ways to protect your web activity, this shouldn't be your weapon of choce even for blocking Google Analytics. To be clear, there are way more comprehensive blocking methods even for Chrome out there which should be a hint of what this extension is actually designed for: a simple way to ONLY blocking Google Analytics, nothing more or less than that. The practical effect will be that your browser will not send all of the usual data to the Analytics servers and your visit will therefore not contribute to the aggregated data collection of the specific site. These type of tools can for example be used as a work-around to screen out "internal" traffic from Analytics (for example employees visiting their own company's external website) when the usual IP-blocking functions in Analytics is hard to implement for one reason or another. As far as I can tell, it does what it's supposed to do.
This block google tracking. Works fine in 2023 with Universal Analytics, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Ads tracking.
does absolutely nothing
I am still being tracked according to my google analytics. I am trying to block my computer regardless of my dynamic ip and which wifi i am using. Does this take time to take effect?

IG it works ironically, GOOGLE made this xD
Not appearing in GA anymore! Done. Blocking IP Addresses stopped working and this fixed that issue. I'll keep an eye on any malfunctions, and will disable as a first test.
Opt-Out should mean Opt-Out without being prompted otherwise. Personally, I couldn't care if I never saw another advert in my lifetime.
I am an SEO consultant. This works perfectly for my needs: so that I am not skewing my client's traffic data if I am looking at multiple pages on their site over and over again. I checked it by monitoring real-time traffic in GA and it doesn't register my views.
