AI 产品解读View and edit Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) directly in Chrome using Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides as the rendering and editing engine
Allows users to open and work with Microsoft Office documents without having Microsoft Office installed on their computer, using Google's free web-based editors instead
User opens an Office file (by clicking, dragging into Chrome, or via Gmail/Drive). The extension intercepts the file via MIME handler registration, opens it in a tab using its built-in QOWT (Quickoffice Web Toolkit) rendering engine, and presents a basic editor. User can view/edit the file, then save back to Office format or convert to Google Docs/Sheets/Slides format (requires Google Account sign-in for conversion and Drive features).

- 目标用户
- Chrome users who need to view or edit Microsoft Office files without owning Microsoft Office / Users of Google Docs/Sheets/Slides who receive Office format files / Chrome OS users (extension pre-installed)
- The extension's core JS files (mainApp.js, mainQOWT.js) are heavily minified, making deep code flow analysis difficult
- Cannot fully verify whether basic view-only mode works without login from source alone - the sign-in messages are for conversion/copy actions specifically
- Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) may have additional paid tiers but those are external to the extension itself
付费分析未识别到付费功能
No evidence of paid features, subscriptions, payment processing, or upgrade prompts in the extension source. The 'promo' dialogs are for Office Compatibility Mode conversion to Google Docs format (a free feature), not payment-related. No terms like premium, subscription, payment, purchase, billing, or upgrade were found. The keyword matches for 'pro' and 'stripe' are false positives from words like 'process', 'promo' (feature promotion), 'predefined process', and 'diagonal_stripe' (a UI pattern).

- The extension requires a Google Account to perform core workflow actions such as converting Office files to Google Docs/Sheets/Slides format and saving copies to Google Drive. Multiple locale strings confirm this: 'You need to sign in to your Google Account in order to convert this file' and 'You need to sign in to your Google Account in order to make a copy.' The extension uses the 'identity' and 'identity.email' permissions for Google authentication. However, basic viewing of locally-opened Office files may work without login.

nice
Currently it has formatting issues with bullets and other things not showing up in the same place they do under windows/ms office 2010-2013. The funny part is if you convert into google docs, the format comes back to what word displays. And I think if you then convert the google doc back into .docx file it apparently works. So the real issue is a "real" .docx doesn't work. I also got feedback that the .docx conversion on google docs may have an issue. Yes, I just posted this to the google errors link in my chromebook.
It would be awesome if it properly worked pulling in documents from secure WebDAV servers. I also wish Chromebooks could save to WebDAV.
junk!
Hi, Add RTL (Right to Left) support
Works with docx and xlsx. No problem. Lacks some formating tools.
Tried on both Windows 8.1 with Chrome browser, Windows Vista, and Chromebook. Won't display tables in the Word document, just paragraph text. Don't recommend this, until that oversight is addressed.
When I right-click a file in Google Drive, the icon of this App is identical to original Google Docs. i.e. I have 2 identical icons and difficult to distinguish them. Please correct it.
Files I open are not even close to the correct formatting, the usual problem with opening word files with lots of special formatting outside of word. I was hopeful though with how perfect gmail word doc previews are. One day soon this may be great for me : )
