View and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files - without needing Office installed on your computer.

Once the extension is installed, Office files that you drag into Chrome, open in Gmail, Google Drive and more will be opened in Docs, Sheets and Slides for viewing and editing.

You can save each file back to its original Office format or convert it to Docs, Sheets or Slides to unlock more features, like inviting others to edit with you, commenting, chatting and more.

Nice. Still a few compatibility problems. Some text boxes did not show up, but I suspect that these kind of things will get added

I was able to convert .doc(x) and .xls(x) documents and then save them out to a similar or related format all long IN Google Chrome. I think this extension saves a few steps. It works in Google Drive and is not meant to be a full functioning replacement for M$ Office. I did not expect it to be and am not disappointed. Google Docs/Drive has been steadily improving over the last year and I am delighted.

Works excellently. Confusing as it doesn't have the usual extension icon, but works fine by just opening files in GDrive.

A good little tool for editing Microsoft docs in the cloud. Formatting sometimes is wonky, as expected, but the one thing that would make this a 5 star app would be collaboration. If you could make this edit MS files a la Office Web Apps, that'd turn Google Apps into a 365 killer.
