Once the extension is installed, Office files that you drag into Chrome, open in Gmail, Google Drive and more will be opened in Docs, Sheets and Slides for viewing and editing.

You can save each file back to its original Office format or convert it to Docs, Sheets or Slides to unlock more features, like inviting others to edit with you, commenting, chatting and more.

The previous version was broken, but they fixed it. I use it primarily to view office documents, and it works like a charm.

it doesn't work for me, i have Windows Server 2012 Essentials, i tried to open word documents (.docx & .doc) on remote web access it didn't open the document in the browser, instead it downloaded the document, this feature will be awesome though. Update: it did work for me when i opened a word document from a different site, not i need to figure out how i can open documents that i have on my Server 2012, may be i need to install office on my server (any suggestions ?), will try & update again, this is really cool feature. Editing documents would be great.
