Per instruction on how to open, edit, etc. Word documents from within Google Drive, I installed Chrome extension, Office Editing for Docs, Sheets, and Slides but double click on a .docx file and I'm taken to web site Translate for Google Drive (an unsecured site...http://translatordrive.softgateon.net). Read one of your responses saying adding this extension is redundant and so I removed it. Same thing, always taken to the same site. Did I miss something?

I just downloaded this extension to work with spreadsheets offline on an Asus Chromebook. I've found that Google Sheets/Drive takes too long to open spreadsheets, taking multiple minutes for fairly simple documents. I was hoping that pulling the data straight from the Chromebook would speed things up. Instead, I've had unrelated, hard to comprehend problems. It seems that, for whatever reason, this extension is incapable of processing the RANDBETWEEN function in offline documents. I've tried multiple times on both new and existing files, and every time I try, I get an error message that says, "There was an error in the formula you entered. Please correct the error." I could find nothing online that addressed this error, or that even mentioned that specific error phrase. This persisted even when I copied and pasted the sample RANDBETWEEN function straight from Google (https://support.google.com/docs/answer/3093507?hl=en). For what it's worth, the RAND function seems to work just fine. I have not experimented on other functions. Long story short, this lacks some of the basic functionality you would expect from a spreadsheet program. I cannot recommend it to anyone.
