Changes fullscreen buttons so they will put a window around the fullscreen app. This allows you to put a Youtube video about a subject next to the paper you are writing or watch a show on Netflix while chatting. This extension will not reload the video you are watching, nor use some custom controls: it puts the website in its own fullscreen mode. Now also supports Picture-in-Picture mode when fullscreening a video, but this takes away the websites video controls.

This extension requires "Read sites data" permission to function, but you can right-click the extension icon, click "This Can Read and Change Site Data" and enable it only for websites that you are comfortable with. Also the source is open, so you can read that no data is actually read or changed by this extension :)

It will present you with a small menu when you click fullscreen, so you can choose to go fullscreen or windowed.

Doesn't seem to have any settings and whenever you put it in windows mode it closes the actual tab the video came from and then when you close the video it just restores it to the window in the last tab slot, if you had that tab in a group then the tab is now out of the group, it would be better if it did more what picture in picture did and just left the tab alone. I'd even be ok with it pausing the video in the tab and opening the video in that window as long as it didn't close the tab. As it is, though, I definitely can't recommend it and will be looking for something that's a bit more feature rich, that is to say, that does literally one thing and doesn't close my tab whenever I put the video in windowed mode.

Wundervolle Extension - erlaubt windowed fullscreen für mich als wayland user perfekt für 3D-Applikationen (ThreeJS) und funktioniert wohl auch für youtube etc. Die anderen Erweiterungen können das nur für manche Seiten oder nur für Videos - hier ist alles abgedeckt, ich bin total begeistert :) Vielen Dank!

Excellent tool, makes watching something while having a chat open a lot easier. A small suggestion: allowing us to set a global default option would be nice. Like in my case, I want things to be fullscreen 90% of the time, but this extension is perfect for the remaining situations.
