December 13, 2024 It use to work blocking ads On the variouse including YouTube , I have a paid subscription, which they take money from my account each month,,, I have had to contact them because i have started getting numerouse adds on YouTube and Facebook continuously , I will be taking AdBlock off my card as a payee , No sence having a program that claims they will block adds but dont .

Used to work great! Something is going on now as Im seeing more and more ads. I used to donate here and there to adblock and now they seem to offer more features on a payment basis for the year or month to month. Shame cause this extension USED to be awesome.

AdBlock has been a loyal companion for many years. Unfortunately, it no longer works properly. Several websites are super slow when adblock extension is enabled, even if I add those sites to the exceptions and allow ads, but they work fine if I disable the extension. Other websites won't work asking you to disable your ad blocker (which they don't do with other ad block extensions). And Youtube doesn't work properly. Not only are ads not blocked, but often the video won't even play after the ads, and I need to refresh several times until the video plays. I understand it's a constant war of updating the ad blocker to block the latest changes of websites like youtube, but it's been like this for months now, while other ad blockers are working as planned, so I'm switching. I did give it 3 stars as a tribute to all its wonderful years of service, but at its current state, I can no longer recommend it to others.

It rarely works well. It does use up resources but rarely prevents ads form running before & during Youtube videos. There are other Chrome extensions that do a better job.
