Quite good tool to extract chat content together with inline images. Good job Adam! However it has couple of imperfections: 1. Files (not images) sent via Teams chat seems to be ignored. Their names are only mentioned in reply to the message where they originally appear. But the files itself are not part of the extract. If there are only files sent but no message there int the extract is only "(no text)" but no files 2. Some text formatting is ignored / lost e.g. bold, code (from MarkDown) 3. If URL is in chat directly it is preserved, but URL links from linked text are ignored - only text is extracted. and some minors - not so important 4. Tables pasted e.g. from Word are displayed just as a plain text
Fantastic tool. I was very surprised. I was able to CSV export a chat with thousands of message for analysis and come up with relevant themes -- leveraging time stamps to gauge trends. Very well built.
Fantastic tool, 2nd to none!
Les textes se transferent agréablement bien de même que les Émoticon mais pour les images il en oublie BEAUCOUP. Donc pour conserver les images, passez à autre chose.
I had high hopes that this extension would finally solve the frustrating problem of exporting Microsoft Teams chats. Unfortunately, that is not the case. While it does generate an HTML file with a linear message structure, the quality of the export is disappointing. First, all paragraph breaks are removed, resulting in a single block of text without even a space to separate former paragraphs. Second, quoted messages (quoted inside an original Teams message) are 'baked' into the text without any formatting, making it impossible to distinguish who said what. Worst of all, images and screenshots inside the original Teams messages are not extracted or displayed at all. Because of these flaws, Teams Message Extractor is unsuitable for any meaningful Teams chat archiving.
No timestamp information.
The CSV file is appreciated. The HTML files don't seem to work though. Just a blank page when I open them. Also, if you're downloading files, they pop up one-by-one. Pretty annoying if you're downloading a lot of them. A zip file download would be great. If possible, Emoji Reactions on the CVS file would be nice. As of now, I don't see them.
It performs its necessary functions.
Very good Teams chat transcript maker. It crawls through the chat to make the transcript. I was able to get 3 years of chat history without errors and then download it in .csv. It didn't even complain when I chose 1M on the message limit. An option to download in HTML would be a 4-star and 5-star if it included attachments!
This is exactly what I have been looking for, a basic export of the messages to a simple to read excel file. While we can do the necessary compliance reports etc this takes time and isn't super useful as an end user side of things, this is useful to be able to quickly export the necessary messages that I can then paste into a support ticket, email etc.
