Not only does it mark. It will stay after Chrome has been restarted. Best of all, if you want to remove the marker later, simply click the little x in the beginning of it. Remarkable:)

I would like the option to add my own notes to highlights, however the ability to assign colors to hot keys has made this one of the more often used extensions in my toolkit.

Eu gostei muito dessa extensão. É um pouco complicada no começo, mas depois que você entende o mecanismo é bem fácil e ajuda bastante com leituras da faculdade para mim. Para usá-la você precisa selecionar o trecho desejado e depois clicar com o botão direito, aparecerá uma caixinha com a caneta e você também pode escolher a cor (até mesmo personalizar, o que achei o máximo). Muito boa mesmo!

I really like this extension, it's simple yet powerful. The only thing I would love to note is that when I highlight a hyperlink it does not appear as a link anymore - it is clickable of course but the word is no longer blue. That can be confusing, especially since I thought that this extension only changed the "background" color. I'm a dev ops guy so I'm not sure which CSS property or whatever is being altered and whether that's possible or not.
