If the extension causes slowness issues, especially in combination with large, preexisting highlight collections, I recommend *disabling* (not removing) the extension until an update is ready, unless you have a backup.

DESCRIPTION
This extension lets you make highlights on any web page, and subsequently attempts to restore those highlights when you revisit the page.
This process is completely private. The location and contents of your highlights never leave your browser.

this will be awesome if auto backup to google drive or other services be available i used very much extensions but this is the best one of them.
I have been using this extension for years. Everything I read online I highlight. I have added many other colors, some with shortcuts.
this is honestly life changing. i was sitting here reading a school web assignment, thinking wow i would love to just highlight this rn. looked it up and here it was.
단축키 설정 할 수 있는 방법 공유합니다! 1. 주소창 우측에 위치한 퍼즐 모양처럼 생긴 '확장 프로그램' 버튼을 누른다. 2. 팝업한 창의 가장 아래에 위치한 '확장프로그램 관리' 를 누른다. 3. 들어간 페이지의 좌측 메뉴에 위치한 '단축키'를 클릭한다. 4. 화면 중앙에서 super simple highlighter 를 찾아서 원하는 단축키를 설정 한다. Dear developers, Thank you for providing such a useful service:) It is the most simple, concise, and convenient extension I've ever used. However, I have one request: I set up a shortcut in "chrome://extensions/shortcuts" page, and everything is perfect except the highlight name. Since you named the highlights like "highlight #N," users have to guess or check the color one by one each time to set the shortcut. Could you please rename them in more intuitive ways, like red, green, bold, etc?

Doesn't work with latest version of Chrome?!
