(DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT WANT TO SEE RAGED OUT COMMENTS IN RESPONSES! BE CIVIL!) The Pros and Cons of LanSchool Tl;Dr: It could be good if it wasn't associated with spyware and didn't block websites by itself. But, because it is really shady since its icon is invisible, it strikes it to the rating given. As a note, I am a student and I do not like LanSchool in the slightest. I believe it is a hindrance for students learning since they have to find what websites they can use. And, there are students who can only learn if they have music, me being one of them. But, not everyone has a phone and an unlimited data plan, and as a result, they need to go onto the internet to get music from Spotify or YouTube, but LanSchool blocks it. However, I tried to make a completely unbiased opinion so that we can truly weigh the pros from the cons. Here are the Pros and Cons of LanSchool! Pros: Allows teachers to keep students on task. Not often used as a spyware from teachers. Designed to maintain a good learning environment. If used for pure comedic use that isn’t infringing on learning could be considered a game (if you have the Teacher program on your computer). Cons: Has been installed through viruses and cannot be removed. If used maliciously, is a spyware. If used not to help a learning environment, is a bad program. Has an invisible icon in Chrome (SUSPICIOUS!). Doesn’t allow certain websites that may help students learn. Is always installed by admins and has its fair share of problems. It’s not the quickest app. It needs plenty of fixing so you can’t see the students screen. Students can play with the teacher if they know how to program and can program their screen to see something different from what’s actually there. At the end of the day, is LanSchool any good? Not really. It needs plenty of fixing. And, the biggest strikes against it are that it installs as a virus sometimes, and it’s an INVISIBLE ICON in Chrome. Those make it really suspicious. For schools, if you want a learning environment that’s any semblance of good, stop using this and find an alternative that’s less associated with being a Spyware. ~AlphaStorm
