i've been reading the other reviews because some of them are funny as hell, but what people are trying to convey isn't too far off from the truth. i feel like this extension has the capability to do way more than it's intended to do. it can track every single thing you do on your computer. sure, it may be a chrome extension, but it runs through files and data on your computer, no matter how "safe" you make them. some bad ratings are only here because these kids are mad at how their teachers are using lanschool. however, this program is incredibly dangerous to your privacy. so by the slim chance any school district is reading this review, are you really this concerned about what every single person is doing 24/7?

Others like me (students) have pointed out that this is an invasion of privacy, and I completely agree. Some of these reviews are not well worded, but there is a consensus that LANSchool as an app, and as a chrome extension invades on privacy at school and at home. The fact that this software is monitoring the user's activity and is installed without their consent on their devices is unacceptable. It is a violation of privacy and should not be used in a school setting. Schools should be taking steps to ensure that students' information is kept safe and that their privacy is respected. Schools should consider using alternatives that are not invasive and do not require users to give up their privacy. In addition, students need to be made aware of the implications of using software like LANSchool. Schools should also be providing more information about the software and its capabilities to students and parents. It is important for users to understand the full extent of what the software is collecting and how it will be used. I personally have made a windows script to disable LANSchool and its monitor, but it is not enough. Schools should be taking steps to ensure that students' information is not collected without their knowledge. Privacy is a right, and LANSchool should not be used in any school setting.

Almost cant believe it that Lenovo is producing Spyware for schools. And still cant believe schools haven't realized it even is spyware yet. My school doesn't mention it, and none of my friends pay attention to it, and I think I'm the only one who actually knows what going on about this app.

bruh. this dumb LaNsChOoL web helper is absolute garbage. it blocks all the sites that are educational and needed. not to mention it's also spyware. it takes your name, age, email address, and doesn't that violate our privacy? l hate this thing.
