AI 产品解读Classroom management web helper extension that extends LanSchool Student software capabilities in Chrome, enabling teacher-side monitoring and control of student browsing activity
Helps teachers maintain an effective learning environment by monitoring student web browsing, enforcing website filtering policies, blanking student screens during class, capturing screenshots for oversight, detecting banned words in student keystrokes, and managing browser tabs remotely
Extension runs passively on student devices. It connects to locally installed LanSchool Student software either via localhost HTTP requests (Windows) or Chrome extension messaging (Chromebook). The teacher controls student browsing through the LanSchool Teacher console. The web helper monitors URL changes, reports browsing history, enforces web filtering (blocking/allowing URLs per teacher policy), captures tab screenshots, blanks student screens on command, and detects banned words typed by students. If LanSchool Student software is not running, the extension becomes dormant and inactive.

- 目标用户
- Students in LanSchool-managed classrooms (extension installed on student Chromebooks/browsers)
- The extension is a companion to proprietary LanSchool Student software, so full end-to-end functionality cannot be tested without that infrastructure
- The ChromeAppsWhitelist (referenced at line 1600) contents are not visible in the source but determine which external extensions can communicate with this one
- LanSchool the commercial product may have paid licensing for schools, but that is external to the extension itself

No payment, subscription, billing, license, upgrade, premium, or feature-gating mechanisms exist anywhere in the extension source code. A grep for subscribe|premium|trial|license|upgrade|checkout|payment|stripe across all 32 text files returned zero matches. All keyword hits for 'pro' are false positives from locale strings ('product_name'), JavaScript built-ins (Promise, Promise.reject), property/prototype references, and copyright notices. The extension itself is a free companion helper for LanSchool classroom management software; while LanSchool as a product is commercially sold to schools, the extension contains no internal paid features.

- The extension does not implement any login UI or authentication flow. The 'studentLoginName' (background.js line 690) is extracted automatically from system context passed by LanSchool Student software—it is not a user authentication prompt. The extension operates passively: it monitors browsing, communicates with local LanSchool Student software via localhost HTTP and Chrome extension messaging, and becomes dormant when no LanSchool Student software is connected. No login credentials, OAuth, or account creation is required from the student user.
F*** this. i have read a LOT of reviews, and now i know why to despise lanschool. First off, Spyware. second off, it isn't in the contract that the school is QUITE LITERALLY Watching you AT ALL TIMES. third, it is pretty much like a virus. IT GOT ON MY HOME COMPUTER! now, i am here to say; F*** LANSCHOOL. now.. lemme uninstall this..
Bruh................................
this is f**cking gay im a 9th grader trying to download mods to 1.5.2 minecraft but i cant get rid of lanschool what a bi**h
Why does this exist
This extension is horrible, as a student I feel like we should have the rights to say we don't need this. I understand the teachers don't want kids looking at bad this or playing games and that. But we have so many other ways of making sure that stuff doesn't, plus this has Spywear and key-logger. For them to allow Spywear and key-logger students and a parent should both agree to it. LanSchool will be on our account not the schools and most of the accounts will have our names in them, that basically is putting our name into something we didn't sign up for. I understand that schools use it to make sure we are our best in class but we have so may other ways of doing that.
cant remove from extensions didnt agree to it
It does make sense to block stuff but the amount of things it blocks it outrageous I'm pretty sure it does this by keywords such as vpn or unblocked and others and its just annoying and makes things difficult teachers constantly sit there for 20 minutes trying to get certain site unblocked to continue with class i literally have to reply just to leave a review. It tracks your ip and constantly tries getting you to update if you haven´t which makes it difficult and all around is just a worrisome experience being tracked and constantly blocked on a computer your forced to have and quite often bring to your home.
First off i'm going to try to be as unbiased as possible when constructing this review. First thoughts: I dont like it intermediate thoughts: I hate it end thoughts: I really hate it bonus thought: corndog
This app is terrible. It shouldn't be added onto student chrome books in the first place especially if it isn't in the contract. Teacher need to stop being lazy and actually check if they want to see if we are on something we're not supposed to be on. Additionally, teachers hover this app above our heads and make sure that we know that they don't trust us. This app does not help students. Usually students try to find a way to delete it (which I have and succeeded) just because we don't want teachers to have no trust in us and looking at our every move. Teachers can even spy on you at home WHICH ONE DID ALTHOUGH I DON'T KNOW WHO but it said someone was on. If you actually cared about the well-being of students you would have fixed this and made it better long ago hon.
Why though? Why? WHY?
