Open in VLC™ media player extension, sends video and audio links to the well-known VLC media player. This way you can directly watch online streams in the VLC media player with just one click. To send these links to the VLC media player, right-click over the video or audio link and use the context menu item or use the browser action button. If the extension only grabs a single link, the link is opened in the player. If multiple links are detected, you will get a prompt box to select media links to be sent to the player.
Note: For this extension to work, you will need to install a minimal native-client application. Instruction on how to install the native client will be displayed once the extension is used. You can also watch installation instruction on the FAQs page
How to use this extension:
1. The extension appends a context menu item to the browser context menu when the media element is the target.
2. The toolbar icon becomes active (colorful) when a page is supported
As of version 0.2.0, there is a tool to join media files in a single media file. You can find this tool on the right-click context menu over the page action button. The output format of this tool is WAV. You can use VLC to convert this WAV file to any other audio format.

След добавяне на разширението има още малко настройки. Трябва да се свали файл за операционната система(излиза съобщение как да се свали и стъпките за финализиране) и да се инсталира После е лесно .VLC сам стартира.

Great extension! However, it no longer supports WINDOWS XP. For those who would like to use it under XP, you'll need to replace node.exe in the install directory with the 5.12.0 version of that file, which you can download from https://nodejs.org/en/download/releases/.
Kjipt å gi VLC bare en stjerne. Med WINDOWS fungerer den helt fint. CHROMECAST SUGER SÅ INN FOR JÆVLIG PÅ ALLE PLAN SOM TENKES KAN
It's not the same VLC as the Windoze version with a million bloated options. This version is bare-bones, and includes the command "Enter network address: e.g. http://, mms://, or rtsp://" That's all the doctor ordered. (rtsp? LOL) I had trouble finding a media player that I could load my favorite stream URLs into. This works. Get an audio patch cord to attach your Chromebook to your home hi-fi. Or hook a Bluetooth receiver to your home hi-fi. There's a menu item to turn on the equalizer, but nothing happens when I click it. Beggars can't be choosers. But this Acer CB5-312T has pretty modern hardware, so if the equalizer doesn't turn on, I think it's because the app is not completely developed. It seems to be saving a list of URLs for all the streams I've played. (So far, just two streams after using VLC for a week.) And little trash cans if you want to remove anything from the list. But you can't edit anything in the list to append a plain-language label on a URL, so that's a lot of cryptic IP addresses to have to memorize. But at least I got this Chromebook to play my favorite streams.
