The idea behind it is good. It gives users a simple way to be more cautious and aware of potentially unsafe behaviour. However, the system has some clear issues. It relies heavily on data without always considering context, which can lead to users being flagged in ways that feel unfair. There doesn’t seem to be a strong distinction between different levels of behaviour, meaning people can end up with similar labels despite very different situations. The appeal system is another downside. Response times can be quite long, and the process can feel unclear. In some cases, users are required to provide proof of ownership or supporting evidence, but even with logs or context, outcomes don’t always seem consistent. The pros and cons have a significant difference in amount. **Pros:** * Good concept focused on user safety * Simple and easy to understand * Encourages caution within the community * Does actually find out if you have been in those servers + games or clients * Can find out if your friend has been in condo servers (reach out to them before unfriending them though, UNLESS they are in like 10+ servers and are active 😭) **Cons:** * Relies too much on data without enough context * Limited distinction between levels of behaviour * Appeal responses take a VERY long time (months possibly, im still waiting for mine) * Decisions can feel unclear or inconsistent * Appeal process does take a very long time (I understand, small staff team, yes I know) * Too many false positives undealt with **Regarding minors (IMPORTANT):** * **Pros:** * Helps highlight potentially unsafe environments * Get to know if the people that you are speaking to could be potentially dangerous or a weird person * **Cons:** * Can flag younger users for curiosity or lack of judgement rather than intent * Does not always account for age or maturity * They could of been vigilantes or observers or trollers, looking around in the game (ONLY APPLIES TO SOME) * Some people may not have been placed in the mixed category, but instead be flagged as unsafe due to curiosity Overall, Rotector has a good idea behind it, but the execution could be improved. A better balance between data and context, along with a clearer and more responsive appeal process, would make it more reliable. Imo, if you do find any friend that has been flagged as unsafe or anything, don't instantly unfriend them, reach out to them first (if you can) EDIT: In my opinion, minors should be given a bit more leniency in the appeal system. A lot of the time, younger users might get flagged out of curiosity rather than bad intent, and being labelled as “unsafe” for that feels a bit harsh. There should be more consideration for age, and appeals for minors should be easier and more understanding in those situations. (im saying this because i have been flagged for the same reasons, I was 13, searching for these servers to see what is happening, and all i can say is that those servers are very disgusting and weird, and rotector does get a good job for catching those people, but the downsides overweigh the positive things this extension does.) edit 2: Yep 2 star now, appeals take outrageously long and its just false flagging lots of people now, its not doing its job. If you downvote this you just dont have any sympathy for victims or curious people

All the people who criticise rotector saying they got false flagged are all gooners who want this extension gone lmao. This extension is super reliable and on point. If you join a condo server out of curiosity, that's on you. But you will get placed in the mixed category which means you are either innocent or a pred. So stop whining that you got flagged out of curiosity. The mixed section is a thing for a reason.
