To increase privacy in public spaces the Privacy Extension For WhatsApp™ Web blurs your messages. Your messages and other content only reveals upon hovering over with your mouse cursor. Additionally you can quickly toggle all effects by using a keyboard shortcut or by clicking the toggle button in the extension menu.

It adapts to your needs by letting you decide which elements you want to blur. Most important options:

- All messages in chat: Blurs all messages in the current chat.

- Last messages preview: Blurs all message previews on the left.

- Media preview: Blurs all images, videos, stickers, ... in separation from the text.

- Profile pictures: Blurs all profile pictures.

It worked amazingly before a few weeks ago. It seems it has stopped working all of a sudden

The Privacy Extension For WhatsApp Web has encountered some issues lately, mainly due to sudden updates pushed by WhatsApp. As a temporary fix, I've made some adjustments to the extension's source code. While it's not fully functional, the modified version should offer some relief until the original author, lukaslen, updates it officially. You can access the modified extension on GitHub at this link(https://github.com/detronetdip/Privacy-Extension-For-WhatsApp-Web). Please note that all credit goes to [lukaslen](https://lukaslen.com/) for creating the original extension. I'm currently working on refining the modified version and plan to submit a pull request to the original repository. If lukaslen prefers, I can remove or permanently delete the modified codebase.
