I don't usually write reviews because I type like I talk, with my hands waving around and very wordy, that being said...I was excited when I found this extension 7 months ago because I don't have tv anymore and need the subtitles to help me hear what words are actually being said when watching/streaming my shows on my laptop now. It worked great for a few months until...it didn't. the past say 3-1/2 months its hit and miss, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, when it does half the time the words don't line up with the lip movement, even when I use the lil doodad to fix the speed, and even then there are words in there that aren't even being said on the actual show. The past 2 days (its 4/5/20) it says it "cant connect to the subtitle provider", I've uninstalled then reinstalled multiple times no changes, I'm using an up to date HP Windows 10, Google Chrome browser laptop that everything works fine on, Im connected through wifi but also tried with ethernet just to be sure and nothing makes a difference. I understand this extension is free, and I wouldn't even mind paying a reasonable price monthly for it if it worked 24/7 but it doesn't, because at least twice in a 24 hour period I get an error msg that its under maintenance which is a pain when I'm pulling up my next show to watch. I'm watching normal everyday American tv programs from local networks like Blue Bloods, Chicago P.D. etc no foreign films, so how hard can it be to put the subtitles on them correctly. I wish I knew how because I surely would do it myself for us old folks who need help hearing with our eyes. Sadly there wasn't another subtitle extension out there to choose from, **hint hint someone could probably make a killing from it, just saying. Please fix this thing or give it to someone who can run it properly.

Very useful as there are multiple streaming sites in certain countries that only offer subtitles in the original language of the movie.

It didn't work for me. It wouldn't add subtitles to the video I was listening to, and I could not open up any settings for the app.
