This extension enables the use of IBM Aspera Connect with Chrome. This extension requires the IBM Aspera Connect application, version 3.9.0 or newer.
The purpose of this extension and the corresponding desktop application is to move large files FAST from your computer to an IBM Aspera server.
You need to have an account on an Aspera server to move files.
FASP is the protocol used to move files much faster than is possible over TCP/IP. The application has to be where the network is.
Privacy statement: This extension is activated only by websites that integrate IBM Aspera to transfer files. This extension does not read or store any personal information.

my work computer blocked it. rightly so
Forcing people into some weird extensions for file upload. This could have been a popup window...
It works, but it's too much trouble for just downloading a file. I use it only when my clients for some reason use Aspera when more simple alternatives work just as well.
As(s)-Pera. Aptly named after the developers.

Rarely works
cant connect its been a week trying to figure this out. lame af
besides the Chernobyl 1986 User Experience, it does not work. Upload keeps failing with cryptic message. It would be a bad joke, yet it's real. I'd like to time machine myself in the meeting room where the CTO announced to the room: "we're going to manage our traffic with ASPERA!"
Probably steals your data. I am forced to download this app for freelance work, just to download a file. Which makes no sense. It also wants a desktop client. Uninstall each time after your downloads and scrub for viruses.
This is the worst piece of software I have used in my life. What use is high speed transfer when you end up spending 10 hours getting this piece of trash to work
