You sit down at the computer, and you swear you'll be productive. Next thing you know, it's twelve hours later. You've checked your email, updated your Facebook status, blown through 200 pages of Reddit, read every article in your Twitter feed, looked up your favorite band on Wikipedia, vanity googled yourself, cyber-stalked your ex, browsed through all your high-school crushes' Instagram feeds, and lost a week's pay playing online poker.
What you haven't done is WORK.

A simple web site blocker to keep you focused and enhance your productivity
The Freedom website blocker gives you control over distracting websites, so you can focus on what matters most.
Limit your time spent on distracting sites. Limit is an extension that allows you to set time limits for distracting websites.
Beautifully interrupts mindless browsing, and gets you back to your life.
Eradicate distractions and take back control of your browsing
This extension has proved really useful to me and has worked better than some other blockers which only block sites outright; it allows me to limit myself to an hour a day or less on distracting websites, which is what I'm looking for, and I really appreciate the reminders letting me know how much time I've been on a distracting site and how much time I have left (sometimes it can feel like I'm on YouTube for 10 minutes but it's actually been half an hour). Here are a few things I think could be improved upon (or perhaps I'm just not understanding how to do them): 1) If I don't have nuclear option on, then adding chrome://extensions or brave://extensions to the blocked site list doesn't completely block it, but just restricts the amount of time I can spend on it. However, even when not with the nuclear option on, I feel like blocking the extensions page outright should be an option, to prevent one from just disabling the extension. 2) When I have on the setting that makes you complete a writing challenge in order to change extension settings, there's the option to allow access to limited settings, which is a nice addition. However, changing the daily reset time is still not allowed here - I think it should be because this change doesn't affect the user immediately and takes a day to take effect (if I'm understanding it correctly). 3) The reason 2) is even an issue is because I set the reset time to 05:00, but even after this time I had less than the whole amount per day I'm supposed to have (it counted some time off from before 5am). So I wanted to check and make sure the reset time was still at 5:00, but couldn't access that setting without completing the writing challenge. I'm not sure if it was a bug that caused the reset time to change or not, but I could also see this being an issue in the opposite way - if it's possibly resetting when someone doesn't want it to they could have MORE time than they allotted to themselves, which is obviously more concerning. 4) I'd like to donate with cryptocurrency but donating $10 with bitcoin could have $1-2 in fees which is pretty significant; maybe something like xlm or nano would be allow more of users' donations to get to you Anyway, thanks so much for this extension, it's helped me a lot!
I was very happy with this extension until today. For some reason I kept getting redirected to "shouldnt you be working?" page even with unblocked sites which recomended "freedom" app and asked for donation. I could not turn it off or get away from there and in result I COULD NOT READ MY EMAILS OR GET ANY WORK DONE which happens to be the exact opposite of what i wanted from this extension. I am very angry and disappointed. I will not be using this extension anymore.
This extension is amazing, but I'd like to give some suggestions from some experience because I think if you incorporate that, it would be perfect. I'm not good at explaining so whatever. 1. You need to stop me from editing the nuclear option start time.At least with the other block option when you try editing the time of start, there's some resistance but it's super easy for me to delay the nuclear option as long as i do so before it starts. So i keep doing that till i never start. Say i set nuclear to start a 5:00 pm, what usually happens is that at 4:58 I go and change the start time of nuclear to an hour ahead. And then I keep doing that and i just end up never starting. If there's something you can do, please do so. 2. I need multiple block time periods. As far as I've seen, you can only block from ___ time to ___ time at one go. I want the option to be able to block from say 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and then a period of no blocking, then from say 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm I want to block again. I mean when I'm given that responsibility to set the block time again, I usually shirk on it. 3. Also, remind everyone on installing the app to ENABLE FOR INCOGNITO. I always forget to do so when I download this and I end up procrasstinating. Thanks.
This extension is the best one I've ever used! If it's possible to set different active hours for different days (at least, set different active time for weekday & weekend), will be better.
great concept in theory but doesn't work. It blocked my uni page when I had no single url added to the blocklist.
Honestly, this extension would be PERFECT. If it wasn't for the fact that it doesn't work on incognito mode.
Liked it. It reduced my time in YouTube
Super útil. Me ayudo a darme cuenta cuentas veces terminaba en paginas que me robaban la vida y el tiempo de productividad. Es bastante restrictiva. A mi me ha parecido excelente.
I lOVE this extension. the developers are hilarious. 4 stars though because i haven't seen the really long pop up anymore that follows mostly like this: You want More time? Seriously? Are you sure? Do you really want to do this? But isn't the whole point of this extension to block you? Ok why are you going through with this? You're really OK with this, are you? Ok, fine? You're only hurting yourself, loser? Now they only ask you 3 -5 times. I feel the more times they ask, the more effective it is!! Please bring back what i'm talking about!! Or I just haven't seen this in a while. :)
- why would I have to display a webpage I don't want to see for a minimum of 1 minute per day. Why can't we set that to 0 minutes. Or 1 second ? - During this minute, the page I don't want to see HAS to be watched. You can't watch any other webpage or the 60 seconds countdown stops. You can't click on any other app... or the 60 seconds countdown stops. So you HAVE TO watch the webpage you don't want to see for a minute per day. That's utterly nonsensical. - Before "stayfocusd" I had annoying webpages pop-opening other tabs (like translate.google.com). Now that I blocked those pages, they keep pop-opening but instead of showing the usual content, they are directed to http://www.stayfocusd.com/. What's the difference ? And you're asking 10$ for that ? I wouldn't feed that extension to my browser if I were paid to do it.
