You sit down at the computer, and you swear you'll be productive. Next thing you know, it's twelve hours later. You've checked your email, updated your Facebook status, blown through 200 pages of Reddit, read every article in your Twitter feed, looked up your favorite band on Wikipedia, vanity googled yourself, cyber-stalked your ex, browsed through all your high-school crushes' Instagram feeds, and lost a week's pay playing online poker.
What you haven't done is WORK.

A simple web site blocker to keep you focused and enhance your productivity
The Freedom website blocker gives you control over distracting websites, so you can focus on what matters most.
Limit your time spent on distracting sites. Limit is an extension that allows you to set time limits for distracting websites.
Beautifully interrupts mindless browsing, and gets you back to your life.
Eradicate distractions and take back control of your browsing
If you use chrome, this is the worse and also very helpful app you can download. You set aside time to do your homework and have blocked sites that you often get distracted by. You can set a few minutes (or hours, but not encouraged) to use the internet, such as if you are taking a break or finish your homework early, but it times you and once you run out of that time you can access nothing. You can also have accepted sites (that you do your homework on) and block everything that is not that site so you can't find new distractions.
great app
Cette app ne m'est d'aucune utilité, car le nuke mode m'empêche de pouvoir choisir les sites autorisés, ce qui est particulièrement embêtant.
Wish I have found this earlier.
I gave this extension a 5 star rating before I read the other reviews. I agree that it should have a break window setting for lunches/after work/etc.
After a certain time when using "Nuclear" (The one thing I know how to use with this), it wouldn't let me takes breaks anymore which was pretty annoying! Otherwise, it was a really good app!
I would very love to have more than 1 active hour interval; for example, I would not count the lunch break in the time allowed, because if i go out for lunche, I'll have 1 hour to site block when i return! And if I set hte app to include that hour, I have too much free time! could you fix?
Begging for more features. I would gladly funnel money towards a kickstarter that gives this more customizable features. My wishlist include - Being able to selectively add particular youtube channels but allow others. Youtube is both the largest timesink in the world and also possesses some of the best tutorials in the world for my work... StayFocusd is thus useless for Youtube productivity - Being able to add multiple timers for different lists of websites. Some websites are worse than others. I want to be able to group sites together and then all sites in a particular group gets nuked at the end of their timer BUT then the sites in the OTHER lists still have time remaining. e.g. I have one list called "shopping" and one list called "memes" and I give shopping 10minutes anbd memes 5 minutes. This means I can only spend 5 minutes on websites in the meme list and 10 minutes on website on the shopping list a day (or during my active hours) - Automatically have a pop ask me whether a particular site should be added to one of the lists when stayfocusd notices that I've spent more that x amount of time on one website. Then I can add the site to blocked or allowed - BEFORE RUNNING OUT OF TIME AND BLOCKING A SITE WHERE I MAY BE DOING SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE AND THEN LOCKING ME OUT FOR THE ENTIRE DAY WARN ME AND GIVE ME THE OPTION TO WHITELIST THAT ONE PAGE ON THE SITE (e.g. when you're doing something uber-important on Facebook) I'd choke over money for these features and I cant be the only one. Barely usable without these features unless you think Facebook and Youtube need to be blocked outright.
I downloaded it and used it to get some work done; it worked great! I had used the Nuclear option to turn off access to internet on my Chrome browser. The problem was, and this is why I am rating it 3 stars - that work period was several days ago. I had marked the 'Today' option on the Nuclear feature, meaning I only meant for it to happen from 4-7pm on that day. Today - several days later - I saw a popup saying it was going to nuke my chrome again, without my bidding!! I had to scramble to delete the StayFocused extension, and only managed to do so in the nick of time. I don't know what bug/glitch would repeat the Nuclear option when I only chose it for one day. I'll download it again and use it as I think it's useful, but I won't be trying the Nuclear thing again.
bow down to the creator.
