If you already had some YouTube page open before the extension was installed, a page refresh might be needed.

Ads skip is an adblocker for youtube made for Chrome browser to block all ads that are appearing on start when watching tube videos. Also works on other websites and blocks pre-rolls where it possible.

It's really important to integrate an effective facility to be able to easily pause an extension when required. You can't do this from the Toolbar, you have to go into the Chrome Extensions Menu and Manage, then you can pause it. The new YT algorithm detects this extension.
