The only use I can think of for this is to save links to keep because I want sync turned off and the extension doesn't work if sync is turned off. It unhelpfully tells me I have to sign in. I am signed in, I just don't want sync enabled because I'm using a work computer, but I occasionally want to save a link to a website. If I had sync enabled I would simply bookmark the page, removing the need for this extension. Since it only works if sync is enabled, there is no use for it.
