With the lingering problem of it being grayed out much of the time, one still has to open gmail to check for new mail: This defeats its purpose. I have installed this before, got frustrated, uninstalled, waited a month, installed (and repeat). Others had mentioned the same problem in the past, and so I keep hoping for a fix to this problem, but none thus far. I like it and I want it to work full-time, but so far, it is only a part-time working program. I (again) recommend a "refresh" function when right-clicking the icon. Until then, one must open gmail anyway. Perhaps it's a chrome browser sync issue?? ------- Update: I uninstalled it again; reinstalled it again; as I type this, it sets there, grey and with a question mark !?! My G-Voice icon is on, as is my G-Calendar, and I'm signed in to G-Chrome; but G-mail is this -?- I will uninstall it now, and keep hoping for a resolution! I really want it to work steady.

Used to be very helpful, but now always shows the wrong number of mails in my inbox until I click on it. If I receive new mail or delete anything from my inbox, it is inaccurate again until I click it.

Frequently greys out, no option to control polling, slow to update. Overall pretty useless and particularly bad that this is 1) an official extension made by Google, and 2) when you click the "report a bug" button from the 'DETAILS' tab, you are taken to a dead end with no option to report a bug. Very poor show.

Love this app. Always lets me know when I'm have a new email without having to actually open the page and wait for it to load. Saves me lots of time doing that! One of my favourite features is that when I click on the icon when I already have gmail open, it just opens that tab so I don't have duplicate gmail tabs all over my computer!
