Nice work
Excellent. I find this essential and recommend it to others. I can't see how new tab on the far right is desirable. It's not working in the current chrome development channel Version 21.0.1180.49 beta, tab opens on right and: There were warnings when trying to install this extension: Unrecognized manifest key 'author'.

This does NOT open a tab to the next. What it does is opening a tab to the far right and then move the tab all the way along the tabbar to the position next to the current tab. Same with closing behaviour. Switching to the left tab after closing a tab does not work. It goes to the right tab at first and then switches to the left after a short moment. Totally distracting and not acceptable this way. Maybe this is not the extension's fault when there is no other way to do this in chrome but then chrome is not an alternative to Opera for me :(
Great. Setting left tab to open when tab is closed causes chrome to jump tabs when doing a google search from the address bar. A few more options like Tab Position Customizer (if it worked at all) would be great.
Somehow since today (15-jun-'18), the extension seems to 'forget' it's settings. Can press save as much as i want; it'll just not save the preferences anymore...
