Whether you're new to digital accessibility or an old hand, this is an easy to use, straightforward solution. If you're like me, you have a bunch of extensions for accessibility testing, and Silktide has made a real effort to bring all the tools you need into one. Exposing alt text on the images, color contrast with an eyedropper, focus order, landmarks, and a top-tier automated checker all in one place!
I'm loving using it so far, but the Screen Reader doesn't seem to pick up the status of all the elements, it reads the role and label but not the status. For example, a navigation button that expands into a menu, it seems to ignore the expanded or collapsed states.
Such a useful toolbar for identifying barriers on your website. My favourite is the screen reader simulator, as too often people in an organisation that focus on the website do not use screen readers as there is a hard barrier for entry. This makes it simpler.
It's quickly become my go to tool for checking for any accessibility issues
Love this extension! As someone who works in the accessibility space, I use it often on websites of accessibility companies to see if they're actually practicing what they preach with their own websites.
This is now my go-to tool when building my sites, excellent work Silktide.
