HTML5 video provides native APIs to accelerate playback of any video, but most implemented players either hide or limit this functionality. This extension fixes that, plus more...

It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.

Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:

- S - decrease playback speed.

- D - increase playback speed.

- R - reset playback speed.

Great extension - helps immensely. Works with a lot of videos! Would give it 5 stars but Extension seems to need to be 'repaired' all the time now...

В последнее время плагин постоянно отключается с ошибкой «Это расширение могло быть повреждено». Приходится через настройки активировать вручную, но этого хватает ненадолго — за день по 3-4 раза надо таким образом восстанавливать. Поправьте, пожалуйста! Очень полезное расширение, даже не знаю что бы я без него делал.

I have to come to extension's page to re-enable it almost daily. If people want an identical speed playback controller that doesn't crash, look up the extension "video speed manager" on the chrome web store. It is literally the same thing as this, with customizable hotkeys. And doesn't it doesn't crash

Used to be great, but the extension constantly gets corrupted and needs a repair/re-install now. If they roll back whatever update they made to it a few weeks back, I'd be happy to bump the rating to five stars. But needing to reinstall this every time I open my browser is more than a little frustrating.
