It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.
Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:
- S - decrease playback speed.
- D - increase playback speed.
- R - reset playback speed.

I wish there was an option to install an older version whenever an update breaks things. I've been using this extension for years and no other has matched up to it.

it's working!
Recent update has produced some glitches such as the speed of one video on one site in one tab affecting the speed of another video in another tab when the speed is changed. Even though I have my increments for increasing and decreasing seed set to 0.5, it'll sometimes change to 0.1 increments randomly. These glitches were not present with the previous version.
Gostava muito da extensão antigamente... hoje está horrível! no shorts o botão fica inacessível. é impossível mudar qualquer configuração pois a extensão não consegue salvar essas configurações... --- I used to really like the extension back in the day... today it's horrible! In Shorts, the button is inaccessible. It's impossible to change any settings because the extension can't save them...
There is an issue that has not been resolved: saved settings aren't saved. And the setting it keeps reverting back to is really annoying. I tried reinstalling this extension. It continues to be a problem. I don't want to stop using this extension because in the past it has been good.
Thanks to the recent reviews recommending removing and reinstalling. It fixed the problems I was having since the update! EDIT: same problem is Samantha Murad above. It worked and then reverted back to the old settings.
