This is an open-source extension that changes homepage of Youtube (only search bar) and drops recommendations/comments from other pages.

Extension requires access to Youtube website to change its outlook.

Extension icon opens a popup with an option to show/hide the comments section of a video (to check timestamps in comments, for example). In the latest version, an option to temporarily disable the extension was added.

You can hover over the YouTube logo to access the navigation menu – playlists, liked videos, watch history, etc.

Important: the extension doesn't collect any data about Youtube usage.

Works perfectly. Blocks all recommendations. Shows only the Youtube search bar on the homepage for searching videos. While watching a video, all comments are turned off and no video thumbnails are listed on the right panel. Perfect!
