This is an open-source extension that changes homepage of Youtube (only search bar) and drops recommendations/comments from other pages.

Extension requires access to Youtube website to change its outlook.

Extension icon opens a popup with an option to show/hide the comments section of a video (to check timestamps in comments, for example). In the latest version, an option to temporarily disable the extension was added.

You can hover over the YouTube logo to access the navigation menu – playlists, liked videos, watch history, etc.

Important: the extension doesn't collect any data about Youtube usage.

I'm very pleased with this extension, it works precisely as advertised. All you see is a blank YouTube page with a search bar. This means that whenever you use YouTube, it's likely to be mindful and purposeful. Suggestions: 1) Make the dropdown from the YouTube logo more intuitive. 2) Some minor customization would be appreciated (page color, search filters, etc.) 3) All that being said, I love the minimalistic feel, and there are already plenty of YouTube "focus" apps that offer too many features making them unnecessarily complicated.

Does what it advertises. Suggestions: (1) add a scheduler to relax filters during certain times/days, (2) add tags of trending topics that can be selected, which will show only those videos. Such tags can be turned off entirely.

It gets the job done and does exactly what I want. The modular disabling is simple and seamless. I have everything disabled, so it's great to get the old google.com landing page feel when I open up youtube.
