PDF.js is a Portable Document Format (PDF) viewer that is built with HTML5.
PDF.js is community-driven and supported by Mozilla. Our goal is to create a general-purpose, web standards-based platform for parsing and rendering PDFs.
This extension offers PDF.js as the default PDF viewer in Chrome. This is the official Chrome extension of the PDF.js project. Be careful of unrelated copycats.
If you want to use this viewer to view local files, visit chrome://extensions/?id=oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm and put a check before "Allow access to file URLs".

クロム内蔵のPDFビューアから印刷したバーコードは印刷品質が悪い、バーコードスキャナで夜も取れないがこれはどうなのかな？ バーコードのため現在はADOBE READERのEXTENSIONを使って印刷している。 一旦、星４つ

Sometimes shows a quick error message in a red box for a half second, but then loads as expected. This extension is still functional while you are offline, which is a nice feature.. but it also implies that the file conversion (or previewing, etc) is done locally and not on someone's server somewhere. This means you can view sensitive PDFs (tax returns, business docs, etc) without being afraid of those files being sent somewhere without your knowledge. It would be nice if the author could comment on this topic.

great! A major win over the Chrome built-in is that the search feature works (instead of with chrome where it searches each.letter. at. a. time. as you type.) Would benefit from better font rendering. sometimes my files come up with loads of C$r#Ct%rs instead of letters. would also be nice with a light/dark background colour option. Thanks!
Slow loading files.
Installed it to be able to open in new tabs links that lead to external website from a local PDF file, but all the links are not recognized as such, not a single one out of 500 I have in that document. Useless.
Loads quickly and works like a charm.
