I've been using this for around 2 years. It seemed very promising but a lot of the time stylebot social isn't working at all (like it's servers are down maybe), styles get outdated, I can't upload my own styles, changes I do on sites don't get saved, etc. In short, great idea but doesn't work enough of the time to make it really practical.
I love being able to edit the CSS of sites I use on a regular basis. This extension makes that now easily possible. Awesome!
good
The Best!
Best one for someone who is looking for a personal touch in every website!
Used to prefer Firefox to Chrome for years,& always preferred Firefox's customization browser options & extensions over Chrome, in general, but because I could never find an adequate replacement for this CSS extension, I literally used to always return to Chrome simply for this Stylebot extension. I'm super picky & hate bright websites & wish Google would get off their butts & include decent Dark themes for Google apps & especially for Android. I tried Stylish & similar in Firefox but would theme a website in Chrome with Stylebot, copy & paste CSS into Stylish exts, etc. in Firefox which got annoying when wanted to just tweak something. So,haven't used in awhile for other issues but I'm hoping it's still as awesome as it was this past year. It really has no learning curve, even for someone who's had no CSS experience cause it's simply click the area of the page & customize to your heart's content on the Stylebot panel, save & boom worked every time I'd open the site(even if when cache, cookies etc. were cleared. I did always copy & store the CSS codes of all sites in OneNote in case had to rebuild or repair my Chrome User Profile files. It literally made GCalender tolerable, useful again as well as Gmail(built-in dark desktop theme is so basic nor allowed for adjustments to coloring, font, spacing, text, labels & best of all on all websites-you can eradicate useless white space, banners,ad areas etc. There,on very rare occasion, a few quirks on some pages like GCal's upper banner sizing & Mint.com took a lot of tweaking & way more time to get to be acceptable(though was never able to get the site's right/left iFrame areas just right. Most quirks were really the website's issue, not Stylebot's,& some probably likely due to my limited CSS experience when I began using it years ago. But, no other extension in Firefox or Chrome could compare to Stylebot's ease of use, learning curve & my ability to darken websites web designers can't seem to do anything back but stark white, cluttered & not very stylish(no pun intended)designs. If it's still great when I reinstall, start new themes again today, this's 1 of few Chrome apps/exts I'm willing to buy/donate to. So,if all goes well,as I expect it will,I'll be donating to the developer to keep great long-term extensions like this continuously updated &/or supported by the developer (& I'm poor as Hell)but heavily rely on extensions/apps like this to maintain my eyesight & aesthetic browser sanity. Seriously Google & Microsoft, you need to realize(been waiting for years now)that a ton of us prefer cleaner, darker themed apps/website options. The whole reason I even use non-Apple devices is because Google allows for much more customizing, yet ironically, not enough still. And,no MS, light, light Gray Office desktop programs you intro'd couple years ago doesn't count at all. Google has no excuse as to why still haven't provided any true customization Firefox-level features to Chrome desktop browser nor Android browser. If not for all other features, I would dump Android's Gmail,Calendar,Inbox & other Android apps due to still not even offering an optl. Dark theme like tons of other developer's apps from keyboards to ToDo apps. If anyone knows, how can force Chrome on Android to apply my CSS styles to same websites as on laptop, even when everything in my GChrome acct. is syncing,no matter if the website is in mobile view or I change Android Chrome to desktop view(changing to User Agent is a huge pet peeve of Android Chrome since it's mostly hit/miss & a hassle to change;Dolphin app Google?
Не работает ничего
Thank you! Now Chrome is usable. Helvetica Neue displayed so poorly I couldn't use Chrome for several sites.
Doesn't work anymore. None of the style-sheets will show up for me to download. And sometimes I can't edit certain parts of websites.
Great but need a "hide css changes on this page" option..
