AI 产品解读Password manager bridge extension that fills and saves passwords from Apple iCloud Keychain in Chrome browser
Enables Apple ecosystem users (iPhone, iPad, Mac) to use their iCloud Keychain passwords in Chrome, bridging the gap between Apple's password management system and non-Safari browsers on macOS and Windows
User signs into iCloud on their device (macOS or Windows via iCloud for Windows). The extension communicates with the native iCloud helper via nativeMessaging to access encrypted iCloud Keychain passwords. When visiting a website with saved credentials, the extension offers to fill them via toolbar popup or in-page autofill. New passwords created in Chrome are saved back to iCloud Keychain and synced across Apple devices. A verification PIN may be required for initial setup.

- 目标用户
- Apple device users (iPhone/iPad/Mac) who prefer Chrome over Safari on desktop / Windows users with iCloud for Windows installed who want iCloud Keychain passwords in Chrome / Users in the Apple ecosystem seeking cross-device password sync in Chrome
- Extension source code is minified (background.js, content_script.js, page_popup.js, completion_list.js) making deep code-level analysis limited, but the locale files and manifest provide clear evidence for all three decisions.
- Cannot fully verify the native messaging protocol or encryption implementation details due to minification.

No payment, subscription, upgrade, premium, billing, license, purchase, or Stripe-related code found anywhere in the extension source. The 'pro' keyword matches are all false positives from non-English locale translations (e.g., Czech 'prohlížeč' = browser, 'pro' preposition in other languages). The extension is a free companion to Apple's iCloud service and does not gate any features behind payment. iCloud itself has optional paid storage tiers but the extension does not interact with payment flows.

- The extension requires the user to be signed into their Apple iCloud account on the device (macOS or Windows with iCloud for Windows) for the extension to access iCloud Keychain passwords. The extension communicates with the native iCloud helper via nativeMessaging and will show download/setup prompts if the user is not signed in or the helper is not available. The extension itself has no login UI; the Apple ID/iCloud account login is managed at the OS/app level.
Does not work, like at all.
Merci d'avance,
It sync very well with the icloud. I like it.
The iCloud Passwords Chrome extension is a reliable tool that simplifies password management and enhances the overall user experience. With an impressive success rate of 80%, it certainly lives up to its four out of five star rating. When iCloud is properly set up on the computer, this extension seamlessly integrates with the system, providing smooth access to your passwords and even supporting 2FA OTP authentication. In the majority of cases where it does work, the extension performs flawlessly, ensuring a hassle-free experience for users. When everything is in order, you can effortlessly utilize the full range of features this extension has to offer, including the reliable 2FA OTP authentication. However, there is a small caveat. In the remaining 20% of cases where issues arise, it may require re-installing the extension, iCloud (particularly on Windows PCs), or both to resolve the problem. While this inconvenience is manageable, it does occasionally demand some tinkering around for up to an hour. Nonetheless, such instances are infrequent and do not significantly detract from the overall usability of the extension. One aspect that could be improved is the handling of password management settings in the Chrome browser. The extension currently takes control of the password manager setting, which prevents the simultaneous saving of passwords to both the iCloud Keychain and the Chrome synchronized profile. It would be beneficial if users had the option to utilize both password-saving options, as this would enhance convenience and flexibility. Despite this minor gripe, the iCloud Passwords Chrome extension remains a robust and reliable choice for password management across multiple platforms. It offers seamless integration with iCloud, simplifying the process of securely managing and accessing your passwords. With its solid performance and the potential for further enhancements, this extension is definitely worth considering for those in need of an efficient password management solution.
used to work a while back now shows zero passwords. actually erased some passwords once i tried to sign out and sign back in. completely useless.
doesn't work! what's the point in iCloud passwords if your stuck using a god damn Apple device just to access your passwords???? So much for keeping password in "ONE" place, we are being forced to get an alternative password manager, so... you rip us off by getting us to buy extra storage then cannot be bothered to make the services work across multiple platforms... NOT EVERYONE LIKES MAC.
Alle passwörter verschwunden. funktioniert nicht.
after update all my password are GONE (windows) but in iOS its work fine.
