"Audio only youtube" chrome extension enables you to disable only video on youtube which saves internet usage more than 50% when you want to listen songs on youtube.

**Note: It doesn't support Youtube Live Videos.**

You can enable/disable it by just clicking on the icon shown in the extension bar.

Audio only youtube is an open-source project licensed under GPLv3. You can find sources here :

Would it be possible to add an option to have audio only for videos in the music category? Or possibly the option to have an embedded toggle button below the player for audio only?

This really helps, especially when you're watching your data expenditures. (I'm not entirely sure though, it might just turns off the video display, but the terminal might still be loading video data and consumes bandwidth.)

Does NOT save data. It downloads the same amount while disabling the video. So don't think you'll be saving your bandwidth.

Does the job perfectly. Excellent companion app to the new YouTube music. Especially if your company is monitoring data usage.
