Within the last several weeks ads are popping up when I am using the Google engine. After I search, mouse does not highlight anything or show hyperlinks. About 1/4 of the time I have to click anywhere on the screen and an ad will pop up then I can click on a website link after that. For example, I wanted to research "compostable spoons". I typed that and went to click on the website but instead an amazon spoon search came up in a new tab. After I closed that, I was able to click on the search results like normal. I also took a look at the page source and after clicking the screen, the popup vanishes and the code disappears. This does not happen ever on actual websites. It's only when I'm searching on the google engine that random websites like bing or amazon will have pop up ads. In the last few weeks, I have downloaded Java kit 14.0.1 and Gimp. I don't know how Avast VPN thing was installed and idk if I should keep that VPN program. A week or two ago, chrome also rebooted and I thought I lost everything but it came back eventually but it says chrome was installed this year/less than a month ago. That's not true since of course chrome had been installed long ago. It works, but PLEASE fix the file names. The original filename prefixed with the account name would be better.
