- Chromebook owners needing OS recovery / Users installing ChromeOS Flex on non-Chromebook hardware / IT administrators managing ChromeOS devices / OnHub router owners needing firmware recovery / Google Meet Hardware administrators
- The compiled AngularJS app (app_compiled-bundle.js at 5.5MB) is too large to fully inspect, but core workflow is well-documented through locale strings and HTML templates
- Analytics tracking to google-analytics.com is present but does not affect login or paid features assessment

This is a free Google utility tool with no payment, subscription, premium tier, or billing code. All 'pro' keyword matches are false positives hitting 'process', 'product', 'procedure' in localization strings (e.g., 'Select a product', 'recovery process'). The 'billed' match is a false positive hitting Danish 'afbrudt' (interrupted). No payment platforms, no upgrade UI, no license checks.

- The extension is a standalone local utility that uses Chrome's native APIs (chromeosInfoPrivate, imageWriterPrivate, fileSystem) to create recovery media. The workflow (select device → select target drive → write image) requires no authentication. All keyword matches for 'auth', 'session', 'token', 'userid' are false positives from Closure Library license text (AUTHORS), analytics session tracking, and autocomplete UI code tokens—not actual login flows.
A real useless POS UPDATE: My first review, in retrospect, was a bit hasty . . . after a few fruitless attempts at getting this extension to work, I tried running Chrome in Administrator mode before adding the extension. I then went through the rest of the steps and was able to recover my Chromebook fine. I hope that running in Administrator mode works for other, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is I think they should include this vital piece of information!
Horroroso, mi Chromebook no funciona y tampoco esta app
Terrible. Wouldn't work even after running as administrator on multiple computers with different flash drives
Tried multiple times. It appears to download onto the thumb drive, but after it is finished the thumb drive is empty.
esta herramienta solo sirve únicamente con win 7 arrancando chrome como administrador y en win 10 se cierra a la mitad del proceso que mal deberían de arreglar ese problema..
Worked fine -- no issues with creating a bootable USB using local Linux image
