OS- or Computer-specific issues exist when trying to write to thumb drives, but the rest of functionality is solid. Today I tried several times on an HP Desktop to prepare a thumbdrive with no success. I plugged the same thumb drive into a Surface and it finished without issue. I did not identify the specific issue. I was just happy to have the recovery tool work.
I could never get this extension to work, but this older tool from Google worked great. https://dl.google.com/dl/chromeos/recovery/chromeosimagecreatorV2.exe
Google Did You Know We Need Chromebook Recovery Utility For Android Phones? Each smartphone has a connector to which you can connect a USB flash drive and in an emergency, this way fix the Chromebook! Please do it.

The extension download is interrupted without explanation. Therefore no value to my predicament.
Me particiona mi USB aun así la introduje en mi Laptop pero me dice que retire todos los dispositivos externos para iniciar la recuperación y no tengo nada mas que la USB de recuperación alguien sabe porque pasa esto? y como lo solucionaron.
Stuck at writing the recovery image to USB. stays forever at 0% progress on it. So now i cannot recover my Lenovo Chromebook S330 since it is saying "Chrome OS is missing or damaged"

Al descargar los medios de recuperación dice que esta escribiendo, pero no pasa más de ahí.
